Blog World Tour- H. S. Cook!

on Monday, June 5, 2017
This is the last month of the Blog World Tour! How sad! But, we get to end on a good note! Let's welcome H. S. Cook!

Working in a world of logic and reason, while dreaming of one filled with magic, H.S. Cook lives between her scientific research and her fantasy writings. A molecular biologist by day, she finds ways to inject the magic of her worlds into daily life, making time to write. She is currently working on an epic fantasy series: The Blood King Chronicles.
Q: What are you writing at the moment?

A: My main project is The Blood Within – a Blood King Chronicles novel. It is a high/epic fantasy following a dragon and a prince as they discover the part they will play in the battle for mankind’s survival.

Q: How are you planning publishing this book and why?

A: I am hoping to publish traditionally – self-publishing has too many limitations in the hardback/paperback market at the moment – especially in the UK. While ebooks are great, they are not my main target. There is nothing like losing yourself in a book and e-readers act to distant you from the story.

Q: Tell me something about your world not addressed directly in the book.

A: Elves and dragons are the only two immortal races of the known world, but for very different reasons. Blade and poison would take either race, but they do not die of age. The golden forest of Eihäldär will explain the fate of the elves in a later instalment. However, dragons are glossed over.Dragons are not born. They cannot reproduce. An egg forms from an area saturated in magic, and the dragon within will live until the end of time without external intervention.

It's time for another guest! You may remember Heather Hayden from a previous appearance on my blog.

Though a part-time editor by day, Heather Hayden's not-so-secret identity is that of a writer—at night she pours heart and soul into science fiction and fantasy novels. In March 2015 she published her first novella, Augment, a YA science fiction story filled with excitement, danger, and the strength of friendship. She immediately began work on its sequel, Upgrade, which continues the adventures of Viki, a girl who loves to run, and her friend Halle, an AI. You can learn more about Heather and her stories through her blog and her Twitter, both of which consist of equal amounts of writerly things and random stuff she’s interested in.

Blog World Tour- Kristen Kooistra!

on Monday, August 1, 2016
Let's give a big welcome to my next guest, Kristen Kooistra! I've talked about her on my blog a few times before. Here's a short introduction if you don't remember her-

Kristen Kooistra fell in love with reading at a young age and never resurfaced. She loved solving mysteries, riding across the prairie, and sailing on the open sea. But her favorite books were those that held the fantastical. So when the time came for her to seriously approach publishing a book, it had to be fantasy!

Living in Michigan (her own winterland) with her husband, three kids, and two cats, she has lots of free time...Okay, so more like she squeezes in writing time late at night when only the cats are awake to pester her.

Blog World Tour

on Monday, June 13, 2016
I've got some exciting news! *trumpets sound* Starting next month, I'm participating in a series of author interviews that will run through the next 12 months!
Here's how it works- Every month I have a new guest on my blog, and every month I will appear as a guest on someone else's blog. We have a huge group that is all participating, and it's divided up by genre. So everyone I'm interviewing writes fantasy.

Some of the authors I know, others I don't. I'm excited to see what happens! The interviews will be posted on my blog on the first Monday of every month, starting July 4th. See you then!
